Mine charged $500 for his fee.
Varies from lawyer to lawyer, some may charge a retainer of anywhere from $ 500- $1000.
go through yer phone book…lots of them give free consultations…that is a good way to get a ballpark figure…usually around a $500 retainer…but does vary….let yer fingers do the walking

generally my office charges $1000 for a retainer and we usually have to charge more afterwards

It cost me $1,500.00 for the retainer a couple of years ago. Check with reputable attorneys or your local bar association and they can let you know.
Most retainers in WI are $500-1000. Can’t help with the rest, we did Pro Se. (do-it-yourself divorce).
You can do it too, if there’s NO fighting over property or custody!
